The rheumatology division at University Health Network, headed by Dr. Jorge Sanchez-Guerrero, is part of the Musculoskeletal Health & Arthritis programand has several specialty clinics. Themultidisciplinary team is made up of nurses, a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, pharmacist, dietitian and social worker. Our team provides diagnosis and multidisciplinary management to patients in several clinics, including:
In addition, our in-patient unit provides multidisciplinary care to patients from across Ontario with complex and often life-threatening rheumatic diseases. The Toronto Western Hospitalis home to the Centre for Prognosis Studies in the Rheumatic Diseases, known for its expertisein the field of systemic lupus erythematosus and psoriatic arthritis. UHN is also the coordinating centre for the Canadian Network for Improved Outcome in System Lupus Erythematosus (CaNIOS). This network is collaborating to learn more about lupus and how to improve the quality of life of those affected with the disease across Canada. Faculty:(alphabetical order)
